There were additional entries to the list of casino operators of Nevada, as 3 new ones received the online poker licenses for competing in the growing intrastate market of the state.
Fertitta Interactive, Boyd Gaming and Golden Nugget become a part of the growing list of companies having a license of some form to operate in Nevada.
Today, Nevada Gaming Commission approved each of their applications. Initially, they receive approval from the gaming control on October 3.
The licenses, which these casinos have received, are not video poker. However, these casinos will allow them to give scope to players for competing against one another in the online environment, as it is done at the physical poker rooms.
Bob Boughner, who is the chief business development officer and vice president of Boyd Gaming, has said to the gaming commissioners that their firm is looking at the concept of the online poker as a method of diversifying the economy of the Nevada State.
Nevada is, currently, in a position for leading the nation, as the internet gambling grows on a state basis. According to experts, most of the prime operators are looking to establish themselves in the state and they have already started creating jobs.
Bob believes that online poker is going to help the Nevada Market to grow. And it is absolutely wrong to believe in the notion that it will be cannibalizing the physical poker rooms.
Boughner believes that the inclusion of online poker is going to double the size of the annual revenue from land based poker rooms in the Nevada State. Currently, the revenue is estimated to be at USD 132 millions approximately from close to 900 tables. This is going to be one of the significant reasons for the market to grow.
